During Europe’s long economic depression from 1873 - 1896 as a result of abolition of slavery, Africa, now colonized, once again offered Europe, especially Britain, Germany and France access to free commodities that buoyed their economies to the detriment of the Africans. Today, some European economies are facing depression and the US economy is stagnant. Could there be another scramble for Africa for the survival of Europe and the United States? Could history repeat itself?
